Acting Out is a professional acting class designed for the formerly incarcerated who experienced the transformative value of a theatre program while in prison and wish to further their training upon release – where they may continue to access traits long ignored, mine raw talent, harness misdirected energy, and build self-esteem through exposure to the rigors and rewards of a master arts environment, and in so doing, help reintegrate into their communities. The “inside” class has been in residence for nine years at Otisville State Correctional Facility and the “outside” class is now conducted weekly at HB Studio in New York City.
